"Oh, I'm so sorry, dear," Maureen says, and Lorne gives Jack's hand another squeeze.

After a short and slightly awkward pause, Maureen says, "Well, you'll have to take a jar or two with you when you go."

"I'd love that. Thank you." He squeezes Lorne's hand back.

"Careful," Lorne says. "If you start letting her foist canned goods off on you, pretty soon you'll be taking home the entire contents of her pantry."

Maureen makes an indignant sort of noise and swats the back of Lorne's head.

"Ow!"

Jack laughs and then strokes Lorne's hair to soothe him. "My apartment is very small--I wouldn't have a place to fit your pantry."

Lorne leans into Jack's hand a little and smiles softly at him.

"I wouldn't send you off with everything," Maureen says. "I've got to have enough to send back with Evan when he goes."

He's been trying so hard to behave, really he has, but he leaves his fingers slowly stroking Lorne's hair and hopes it's not disrespectful.

"Also small," he murmurs.

If the way Maureen is smiling fondly at them is any indication, it's not disrespectful at all.

"So Evan keeps telling me. He seems to find places for anything I send him though."

"That's because there will never be a shortage of people wanting to eat your cooking on any Air Force base, Ma."

Jack can only smile at this point, and eat his pie.

Lorne is feeling rather anxious to get Jack alone again at this point, and he finishes off his pie quickly, resting a hand on Jack's knee.

jack does not wolf down his pie, but he eats it rather quickly as well.

Lorne smiles at him when he finishes. "Do you need any help with the dishes, Ma?"

"Not at all," Maureen says, standing and all but shooing them out of the dining room. "You go ahead and give Jack the full tour."

"Thanks, Maureen," Jack says, standing too.

"We'll be back before too late," Lorne says, taking Jack's hand and pulling him towards the door.

Jack practically tackles him into a kiss once they're outside.

Lorne laughs into his mouth and kisses him back, holding his hips loosely.

"Take me somewhere," Jack whispers to his lips. "I want to see you naked in the sun."

"Fuck," Lorne murmurs, kissing him hard. He slides an arm around Jack's waist and leads him down a path towards a little wooded area behind the house.

Jack keeps an arm around him and leans his head on Lorne's shoulder.

Lorne kisses his hair and takes him through the woods to a grassy clearing on the other side with a little stream running through it.

Jack kisses him, pulling up his shirt and sliding his hands up Lorne's ribs.

Lorne kisses him deep, running his fingers along Jack's waistband.

Jack steps back to pull off Lorne's shirt and takes a moment to just look at him, golden in the setting sun.

"God, I love you," he breathes and takes his face in his hands to kiss him again.

"I love you too, darlin'," Lorne murmurs, kissing him back.

He drops to the ground and holds a hand out to Jack. "C'mere."

Jack gets onto his knees and takes Lorne's hand. "What do you want, beautiful?"

"Just want you," Lorne whispers, stretching out on his back and pulling Jack with him.
