For some reason, the door to the Bar has been consistently showing up in Lorne's mother's laundry room the entire time he's been visiting her.

So it's a somewhat gentle whirring, a pleasant warmth, and the scent of fabric softener that greets them when he leads Jack through the door.

"It's not as exciting as Atlantis," he says with an apologetic smile.

"A dishonorable discharge might make it hard to find another job later," Jack says quietly. "Conduct unbecoming and all that."

Lorne shakes his head. "It's not dishonorable any more. You get caught, you're discharged, but honorably. It's not perfect, but it's better than before."

"Oh," Jack says softly. "That's--that's pretty good, really."

He sighs and snuggles closer to Lorne.

"It is, yeah," Lorne whispers, kissing Jack's hair and holding him tighter.

"Is that...is it something you worry about?"

Jack nods. "I worry about you all the time."

"Oh, darlin'," Lorne whispers, closing his eyes and rubbing his cheek over Jack's hair. "I wish you wouldn't. I know what I'm getting myself into, and if I ever do get caught..." His voice gets very quiet. "Well...we'll deal with that when it comes. If it comes."

He's holding Jack very, very tightly now, like if he lets go, Jack will just slip away.

"I pray it doesn't," Jack murmurs and kisses his chest.

After a moment he sits up and pulls a blanket from the end of the bed over them.

"So do I," Lorne whispers. He keeps a hand on Jack as he moves, and cuddles close to him once they're under the blanket.

"I'm a little cold," Jack whispers and kisses his cheek.

Lorne gives him a small smile and kisses him. "I'll keep you warm."

"You're very good at that," Jack murmurs and looks at him through his eyelashes.

"I'm glad you think so," Lorne whispers, his smile deepening and his fingers tracing slow circles at the base of Jack's spine.

"I think you're wonderful at it," Jack murmurs and kisses the base of his throat.

"Mmm...good," Lorne murmurs, tilting his head back and closing his eyes. "You're pretty good at it too, baby."

Jack kisses him gently, and then lays his head on Lorne's shoulder again. "The spirit is willing--the flesh needs to sleep."

Lorne laughs softly and cards his fingers through Jack's hair. "I'd have been very impressed if you could've gotten my flesh to be willing again tonight."

He kisses Jack's forehead and smiles. "Besides," he whispers, "we'll both need all our energy for dancing tomorrow."

"I can hardly wait," Jack murmurs.

"Me too, baby," Lorne whispers, settling more comfortably against Jack and sliding his fingers over Jack's skin.

Jack strokes Lorne's stomach a few times, then softly kisses his chest and closes his eyes.

Lorne lays his cheek against Jack's hair and slowly relaxes into sleep.
