Lorne & Jack in the cabin

These things always take longer than one thinks they will.

However, the cabin is finally finished: floors laid, most of the furniture built, stairs to the loft in, plumbing finished.

It feels...good to be done.

It feels even better to be sharing it with Jack.

"Love you, baby," Lorne murmurs, kissing Jack's hair and wrapping his legs around Jack's waist to keep him inside.

"Love you," Jack whispers with a smile and settled against him, loving the scent of them.

Lorne holds him close a little longer before letting his legs slide off Jack to the mattress.

Jack pulls out carefully and kisses his chest as he settled against him again.

Lorne slides his fingers up and down Jack's spine, smiling softly.

After a while, he says, "Bed works."

"Yup," Jack says comfortably. "Bed works just fine."

"Pretty damn good, actually," Lorne murmurs.

"Well, it'll need more rigorous testing before we can say that for sure."

"Mmm...true," Lorne says and kisses Jack's forehead. "Lots more rigorous testing."

Jack chuckles and nuzzles Lorne's throat. "Gonna be so nice . . . me and my Evan . . ."

"Mmhm. Sooo nice," Lorne murmurs.

Jack strokes Lorne's chest throughtfully. "Almost like being married, isn't it," he says, very very very softly.

Lorne is quiet for a long moment. "Yeah," he whispers. "Yeah, it kind of is."

Jack traces Lorne's chest with his fingertips, drawing circles around his navel. He starts to speak a few times but doesn't say anything.

"Baby?" Lorne says softly. "You okay?"

"Absolutely," Jack says and kisses his chest again. "I love you."

He's quiet a moment longer. "Sometimes I forget that I can't offer you a normal life. And then I remember."

Lorne cups Jack's cheek in his hand and tilts his face up. "I don't want a normal life," he whispers. "I want you."

Jack quietly laughs and kisses him. "I hope that's a good thing."

Lorne shrugs, kissing him back. "It's...good enough."

Jack nods and lays his head on Lorne's shoulder again.

Lorne sighs softly and kisses Jack's hair, rubbing his cheek against it.

"I love you so much," he whispers.

"I love you too," Jack says, his hand slowly rubbing Lorne's chest.

Lorne kisses his hair again. He glances out the skylight and whispers, "Look, babe. It's snowing."

Jack sits up with a smile. "Yeah. Look at that."

Lorne slides his fingers down Jack's spine and smiles up at him. "Kinda perfect, isn't it?"
