For some reason, the door to the Bar has been consistently showing up in Lorne's mother's laundry room the entire time he's been visiting her.

So it's a somewhat gentle whirring, a pleasant warmth, and the scent of fabric softener that greets them when he leads Jack through the door.

"It's not as exciting as Atlantis," he says with an apologetic smile.

Lorne tugs his clothes on quickly and pulls Jack to his feet, kissing him.

Jack holds Lorne's face and kisses him back until he feels it's wise to pull away. "Come on," he says quietly.

Lorne smiles into the kisses, and takes one last glance around the room to make sure they have everything before taking Jack's hand and pulling him out the door.

Jack leans his head on Lorne's shoulder as they drive back this mother's house.

Lorne is beginning to wish they'd taken his granddad's old truck so they could cuddle properly while he drives.

He does kiss the top of Jack's head periodically though, and it's not long before they arrive at the house.

"I don't have any luggage," Jack realizes. "Will your mom notice--and wonder?" He fidgets a little.

Lorne kisses him softly. "If she asks, we'll just say that you hadn't planned on spending the night."

Jack nods, then quietly chuckles. "Your mother's going to think I came here just to fuck you."

Lorne laughs. "She might. And to fly. Don't forget the flying."

"And the flying." He squeezes Lorne's hand. "Which was amazing, sweetheart."

"Good," Lorne says softly, kissing Jack one more time before leading him into the house.

Inside, it smells of fried chicken and apple pie.

Jack inhales slowly. The food at the bar is just fine--but this is home-cooking, which he hasn't had for years.

"Evan?" comes a voice from the kitchen. "Is that you?"

"It's us," Lorne calls back, leading Jack into the kitchen where Maureen is waiting with an enormous plate of fried chicken, which she immediately hands over to Lorne.

"Take this into the dining room, would you, sweetie?"

"Can I help with anything?" Jack asks her.

"Oh, thank you, Jack," Maureen says and hands him a bowl of mashed potatoes. "Could you take this in as well? Evan will show you where."

Jack nods and follows Lorne. "Company food," he whispers to him.

Lorne smiles and shakes his head. "Company china," he says, gesturing to the place settings. "She cooks like this every time I come home."

"She's glad to have you home." He places the bowl of potatoes on the table.

"Yeah, she is," Lorne says softly, giving Jack a small smile and heading back to the kitchen to see what else he can do to help.

Jack follows him again. His mama raised him right.

Lorne gets handed a bottle of wine and Jack a bowl of green beans, and Maureen follows them into the dining room with a basket of fresh rolls.

"Sit down, boys," she says. "I think that's everything."

Jack sits, smiling at Lorne. He folds his hands together.

Lorne returns the smile and Maureen smiles at them both, then crosses herself and bows her head.

"For what we are about to receive, may the Lord make us truly grateful. Amen." Crossing herself once more, she raises her head and says, "Well? Tuck in. There's more than enough." She picks up the plate of chicken and offers it to Jack.

"Thank you, ma'am." He takes the plate and a piece of chicken and passes it to Lorne.

Maureen beams at him while Lorne takes a piece of chicken, and soon the potatoes, beans and rolls have also made their way around the table, and Lorne has poured the wine.

"So, tell me, Jack," she says. "What is it you do for a living?"
