Lorne & Jack in the cabin

These things always take longer than one thinks they will.

However, the cabin is finally finished: floors laid, most of the furniture built, stairs to the loft in, plumbing finished.

It feels...good to be done.

It feels even better to be sharing it with Jack.

Jack takes his hand and pulls Lorne to him, and gives him a hard kiss. "Hi."

"Mmm...hi," Lorne says, sliding his arms around Jack's waist. "Welcome home, baby."

Jack beams, gets a mischievous look, and steps out of the doorway. "C'mere."

"Yes?" Lorne cocks an eyebrow at him and follows.

Jack scoops him up and carries him over the threshold. "For luck."

Lorne loops his arms around Jack's neck. "Oh, so I'm the bride here, am I?" he asks, frowning a bit.

"I had the idea, so I get to do it. You can carry me over the threshold next, if you want." He puts Lorne down.

"No, that's all right," Lorne murmurs, keeping his arms around Jack's neck and pulling him in for a kiss. "I can live with being carried." Beat. "Once."

Jack makes a "d'oh" sound and kisses him back, smiling.

"Were you planning on carrying me more than once?"

"I'm just disappointed I blew my shot."

Lorne chuckles and kisses Jack. "I suppose if it were a very, very special occasion you could carry me again."

"Maybe to bed," Jack murmurs, his hands sliding around Lorne's back.

"Well, that's not a special occasion, is it?" Lorne asks, leaning into Jack. "We do that all the time."

"But I like carrying you," Jack whispers, kissing his nose. "Though I don't know about getting you up those stairs."

"Okay," Lorne says softly. "You can carry me sometimes, just...not over the threshold again."

"Yes, dear," Jack murmurs and kisses him.

Lorne rolls his eyes and kisses him back.

"So...any ideas on how we should spend our first night home?"

"Gosh, I don't know," Jack says in his most innocent tone. "With all this room and this privacy . . ."

Lorne nods. "So hot chocolate, popcorn and pillow fights?"

"That sounds like a great way to pass the evening," Jack manages to say before he cracks up.

Lorne laughs quietly. "Well, if you have any better ideas..."

"I think we should test out the bed."

"Is that all?" Lorne asks. "Just test out the bed?"
