Lorne & Jack in the cabin

These things always take longer than one thinks they will.

However, the cabin is finally finished: floors laid, most of the furniture built, stairs to the loft in, plumbing finished.

It feels...good to be done.

It feels even better to be sharing it with Jack.

"That sounds like a great way to pass the evening," Jack manages to say before he cracks up.

Lorne laughs quietly. "Well, if you have any better ideas..."

"I think we should test out the bed."

"Is that all?" Lorne asks. "Just test out the bed?"

"Unless you've got other ideas."

Lorne kisses Jack and pulls away slowly.

"Dance with me?"

"Always," Jack says, smiling. He keeps hold of Lorne's fingers to the last possible moment.

Lorne smiles and moves over to the stereo set up, picking up the iPod and shuffling through the music until he finds something suitable.

Jack laughs quietly and goes to Lorne, wrapping his arms around him.

Lorne slides his arms around Jack's waist. "I never know," he says softly, moving his hips to the music, "what songs you'll like."

"If you play them for me, I'll like them."

"Fair enough," Lorne says, chuckling.

"Do you know how to tango?"

"I do," Jack says, hands going to Lorne's hips. "Shall I teach you?"

"No," Lorne says. "I know how. Just wanted to make sure you did." He slips an arm around Jack's waist and steps toward him in time with the music.

Jack lets Lorne lead, smiling through the intricate steps.

Lorne keeps their bodies close as they dance. It's been a while since he's done any sort of formal dancing, so he's a little rusty at first, but once he gets into the groove, he's actually quite graceful.

It wouldn't matter to Jack if he had two left feet, of course.

Once the song has ended, Lorne dips Jack once for good measure and kisses him slowly as he pulls him back up.

Jack laughs against his lips and kisses him back.

"Okay," Lorne says, smiling. "Now we can test out the bed."

Jack laughs again and tugs on Lorne's hand. "Come on, then, you."

Lorne lets Jack lead him to the stairs. "You're not going to carry me again are you?"

"Not this time. But I may ravish you unrepentantly."

"Yes, please," Lorne murmurs, kissing Jack deeply.

Jack kisses him and then climbs up the stairs, dropping his sweater and shirt as he goes.
