Cooking dinner for Jack

It's a lovely evening, and Lorne is tempted to stop by the lake for a quick dip on the way, but he's carrying raw meat with him, which makes it seem like a bad idea. The walk itself is nearly as nice anyway, and Lorne smiles as the cabin comes into view.

It feels like coming home on leave, which he supposes it sort of is, except that he didn't have to apply for it, and it won't come out of his bank.

"You know what we should get, babe? A grill," he says as they come up the stairs to the porch.

"It just hit me again," Jack says softly. "Why I fell for you."

"Oh?"

Oh look, confused/flattered/pleased again.

"Just . . . you. All the . . . you of you."

Lorne smiles and swirls his last bit of peach around in his bowl before eating it. "C'mon," he says quietly. "Let's clean up and go upstairs."

Jack gets to his feet at once and gathers dishes to put them by the sink. He starts pumping water to fill it.

Lorne starts putting away the salt and vinegar and various other bits and pieces.

"I bet I can get seeds and cuttings from the bar," Jack says as he washes the dishes.

"I'm sure you can," Lorne says. He kisses the back of Jack's neck and starts drying the dishes as Jack finishes with them. "You can get most things."

"Even the Bar has limits," Jack says. "Not many, but they're there."

"Yeah, but we got everything we needed to build a cabin. Getting seeds for a garden shouldn't be a problem."

"True," Jack says and hands him the last dish.

Lorne dries it and puts it away. "It's gonna be a great garden, babe," he says, sliding his hands around Jack's waist.

"I hope so." He leans into Lorne, arms going around his neck. "I want to make things grow, Evan."

Lorne smirks and kisses him softly. "You're pretty good at making things grow."

"I hope that's not a sex joke," Jack says, rolling his eyes, and kisses Lorne back.

"Would I make a sex joke?" Lorne murmurs, kissing Jack again, slowly.

"Yes," Jack murmurs, "you most certainly would."

"Well, maybe," Lorne whispers. He kisses Jack again and starts tugging him towards the stairs.

"Gonna show me how much you miss me?"

"Thinkin' about it." Lorne kisses him once more at the base of the stairs and turns to climb up them.

Jack follows him up, smiling in anticipation.

Lorne pulls off his shirt when he gets upstairs and toes off his shoes.

Jack follow suit, boots and jeans put neatly away in the wardrobe, shirt dropped into the hamper.

"Lay down," Lorne whispers, voice gruff, as he unbuttons his jeans.

Jack sits on the bed and pulls himself back to lie down.
