There are noises coming from Lorne’s closet that shouldn’t be coming from any closet. Clinking glasses and laughter and talking and…is that music?

And then Lorne steps out of the closet (pardon the pun) ahead of Jack.

“It’s not much,” he says, glancing around the sparsely furnished room, “but it’s home.”

Jack moves across the aisle to sit on Lorne's knee. "Sorry. I'm sorry."

Lorne slides an arm around Jack's waist and trails his fingers down Jack's face. "Don't apologize. I forget sometimes, y'know. I forget that you're dead." He cups Jack's face in his hand. "Your skin is warm, and I can hear you breathing and feel your heart beating. It's easy to forget, and I'm sorry."

Jack attempts a smile and puts his hands on top of Lorne's. "I never stop thinking about it. It's always at the back of my mind, particularly when I wonder why you want me."

Lorne pulls Jack's head down and rests their foreheads together and whispers, "I want you because you're beautiful. You're amazing. When you touch me...I feel like my whole body is on fire. I've never let myself really fall for another guy before, but with you...I couldn't help myself."

Jack kisses him, sighing into it, his arms going around Lorne's neck. "Thank you."

Lorne kisses him back gently, wrapping both arms around Jack's waist. "I wouldn't say it if I didn't mean it, babe."

"You are a truly astounding person," Jack whispers. "I'm so lucky to have you."

Lorne laughs softly. "I still think I'm the lucky one," he says, kissing Jack again.

Jack kisses him, then pulls away. "I think we should get back to the city," he says softly. "I want to go to bed with you."

Lorne smiles and turns back to the front of the jumper. "Yes, sir."

Jack moves back to his chair and leans his chin on his hand as they lift off.

Lorne decides not to take his time. He pushes the jumper to full capacity, speeding around the planet until they're over the city before re-entering the atmosphere.

Jack inhales at the sight of the city coming over the horizon and he reaches for Lorne's hand again--one more squeeze before they have to behave themselves again.

Lorne squeezes his hand and brings it to his lips to kiss it, smiling over at him as they fly over the city towards the bay.

"I'm sorry I get so melancholy," he says quietly. "It's hard not to, sometimes."

"You don't have to apologize. I'm sure I'll get melancholy sometimes too." He lets go of Jack's hand to guide the jumper into its berth.

Jack folds his hands together, sighing when the jumper glides into place. "It was beautiful," he says again. "Thank you for taking me."

"You're welcome, darlin'," Lorne says, smiling at him. "I'm glad you got to fly again."

Jack reaches over and scruffs his fingers through Lorne's hair.

Lorne laughs and takes Jack's hand, standing and pulling Jack to his feet. "C'mon, you."

Jack follows him, pulling him close for a moment for another kiss.

Lorne kisses him back, holding him close just for a bit. "We should clean up a bit before we go," he whispers, pulling back to pick up the blanket and start folding it.

"Yes, of course." He gathers up banana peels and lunch bags.

Lorne stows the blanket back in its bin and takes the garbage from Jack, tossing it into a convenient trash receptacle. "Ready?"

"I'm ready." Jack takes a deep breath and lets it out.
